Durante il ciclo mestruale, sotto l&#8217;effetto delle contrazioni uterine, le cellule endometriali vengono rigurgitate nelle tube di Falloppio e finiscono nella cavit\u00e0 addominopelvica.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Invece di essere eliminate dal sistema immunitario, queste cellule endometriali si impiantano e poi, sotto l&#8217;effetto della successiva stimolazione ormonale, proliferano nei tessuti e negli organi vicini (peritoneo, ovaio, tuba di Falloppio, intestino, vescica, uretere, diaframma, ecc.). Gli organi vengono quindi infiltrati con tessuto endometriale.
